This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at Bassett Correctional located at 29501 Kickapoo Rd in McLoud, OK are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Mabel Bassett Correctional Center (MBCC) is a maximum security state prison located in McLoud OK, housing Department of COrrections inmates here range from minimum security to death row females. The current capacity of this facility is about 1,150 inmates, with 102 beds for reception and assessment.

MBCC operates the OU Medical Center which holds inmates from all over Oklahoma who are awaiting medical appointments. The OUMC also provides specialized mental health and medical treatment to inmates. Mabel Bassett Correctional Center participates in the offender Careertech program which prepares inmates for future employment by teaching them useful skills. Some of the training offenders can receive in the Careertech program include forklift operation, computer applications, database management, pallet jacks, and inventory. Inmates can also participate in a residential substance abuse program, receive counseling to help recover from various traumas, and take an anger management class called 'cage your rage.

Schedule of Visiting Hours 

Saturday and Sunday visitation is to coincide alphabetically by last name. State recognized holidays that fall on Monday through Friday will be "Free" visiting. 

All Level 1: Monday 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (minimum and medium approved for one hour of visiting)
Level 2: (minimum) 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 
Level 2: (medium) 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
 A – L Saturday Visitation Only 
M – Z Sunday Visitation Only Level 3: (minimum) 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 
Level 3: (medium) 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 
A – L Saturday Visitation Only 
M – Z Sunday Visitation Only 
Level 4: (minimum) 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
