The inmates housed at Alford Correctional located at 1151 N Hwy 69 in Stringtown, OK are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Mack Alford Correctional Center (MACC) is a multi-functional, adult state correctional institution operated by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections located in Stringtown, OK. This institution is comprised of a medium security long term unit which has the capacity of housing 670 male inmates and a satellite minimum-security unit which houses 263 male inmates. The institution has a total capacity of 933. MACC has two Oklahoma Correctional Industry (OCI) factories for furniture renovation and sign production. The Agri-Services program at MACC consists of a 150 herd cow/calf operation and hay production.
