OK DOC – Oklahoma City Community Corrections Center (OKCCCC) basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 405-463-7800
This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at OKC Community Corrections located at 315 NW Grand Blvd in Oklahoma City, OK are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
OKCCCC is a minimum/community based correctional facility that houses female inmates who are preparing for release. Inmates here may be eligible to participate in the work release program if they have no more than 1,095 days of their sentence left. Work release allowed the inmate to become employed, attend their job during the day and report back to the prison at the end of their shift. Work release enables the inmate to pay child support, court fee's and fines, restitution, and helps prepare the inmate with a solid working foundation for when they are released out of custody. Offenders are encouraged to obtain an adult basic education and GED if they do not possess a diploma. Additional educational courses in literacy, Alcoholics/Narcotics Anonymous, welding, and other self-help programs are available to all inmates. Substance abuse treatment in the form of a 16-week program available to inmates at this facility is an important cornerstone of relapse prevention and the success of an inmate's rehabilitation.
OK DOC leased the Thunderbird Motel in 1970 as administrative offices. Later, it became the state's first community treatment center. The Thunderbird Motel was also the first correctional property ever purchased by the state of Oklahoma under a lease/purchase agreement. The center was an all-male facility until 2000 when ODOC transferred its inmates to other community corrections centers, and the facility became the Mabel Bassett Minimum Unit for women. In 2003, the agency moved Mabel Bassett Correctional Center, including the minimum unit, to a former private prison in McLoud, Oklahoma, and OKCCCC was vacant.
On May 9, 2003, a tornado severely damaged Clara Waters Community Corrections Center. ODOC reopened OKCCCC to house displaced male inmates. In July 2017, OKCCCC transitioned back to an all-female facility.
Inmates can receive mail at any time. Include their name, DOC number and housing assignment if known in the address.
