The Passaic County NJ Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 11 Marshall St Paterson, NJ which is operated locally by the Passaic County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Passaic County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Paterson Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

Program Services
Our Program Services department offers several programs to our inmate population. These include the following:
- GED program giving certain inmates who have not completed high school an opportunity to continue their education.
- A Substance Abuse program administered by a full time 40 hour per week substance abuse counselor.
- Alcoholics Anonymous
- Narcotics Anonymous
- Passaic County Re-Entry Program which is designed to prepare inmates to be reintegrated into society upon release.
- Religious Counseling
- Religious Volunteers Program
