The Rankin County MS Juvenile Detention is a medium-security detention center located at 3350 Hwy 468 West Pearl, MS which is operated locally by the Rankin County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Rankin County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Pearl Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
The mission of the Rankin County Sheriff's Juvenile Detention Center is to provide a safe, secure and positive environment for our staff and the youth in our care. We will provide the youth an opportunity for behavioral change by providing quality services and programs. We will strive to equip the youth with the necessary resources and skills to successfully transition back to their home communities.
