Riverside County – Indio Jail basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 760-863-8252

This facility is for adult inmates.

The Riverside County – Indio Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 46057 Oasis St Indio, CA which is operated locally by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Riverside County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Indio Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

East County Detention Center is a newly built 500,000 square foot, 4-story low-rise building in Indio, CA that will add 1273 beds to the Indio Jail Center (38,000 sq ft), and will be renamed the John J. Benoit Detention Center. The new facility was constructed in two phases and resulted in a 1,626-bed facility. The first phase of the project included the construction of a three-story support building containing inmate intake, transfer, and release areas, medical clinics, a full-service kitchen with food storage, and an extension of an existing below-grade tunnel. The project team constructed a four-story structure consisting of two housing units with mezzanine levels. Each unit will have separate security segments and support functions. The second phase of the project will include equipment salvage, demolition, and hardscape construction at the former jail location.
