The Saline County NE Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 911 S Main St Wilber, NE which is operated locally by the Saline County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Saline County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Wilber Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
The jail is a modern facility with 89 beds. The jail houses inmates from other counties as well as federal inmates for the U.S. Marshals Service. This is a source of income to the county.
In 2007, a new addition was added on to the jail. This new addition resulted in 35 new beds. Since it opened, it has been at full capacity.
