SCDC – Allendale Correctional Institution basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 803-632-2561

This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at Allendale CI located at 1057 Revolutionary Tr in Fairfax, SC are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Allendale Correctional Institution is a medium-security prison located in Fairfax, South Carolina for adult male offenders. Allendale CI became SCDC's first Character-Based Institution in 2015, offering a plethora of programs and services to inmates in an effort to better prepare to return citizens for successful entry, including Jumpstart (faith-based program that prepares inmates for life after prison); Bee program (making of honey); Quilting; Addiction Recovery Program; Animal Rescue and Training Program Cornerstone (Education Improvement Program) and numerous other programs.
The facility houses more inmates than the current operating capacity of 1,185. Inmates at Allendale Correctional Institution are primarily housed in double-bunked cells. Additionally, this facility has 136 triple bunked beds. Allendale CI has two character-based housing units reserved for inmates who display a high level of positive behavior. Programs at Allendale Correctional Institution include a beekeeping program that teaches the inmates the basics of making honey, a quilting program, an addiction recovery program, and a program that allows offenders to work training dogs who are up for adoption.
