The Schoolcraft County Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 300 Main St Manistique, MI which is operated locally by the Schoolcraft County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Schoolcraft County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Manistique Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
Schoolcraft County Jail – Visitation
Inmate visitation will be held Monday – Thursday between the hours of 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm by appointment only.
Immediate family members only will be permitted to visit an inmate.
Visitors must have proper and valid identification. (State drivers license or state identification card.)
No more than three persons can visit an inmate at one time.
No food or drink will be allowed in the facility.
No cellular devices will be allowed in the facility.
All persons who enter the Schoolcraft County Jail for visitation purposes will be subject to search.
Inmate visitation may be refused, or suspended if the orderly running of the facility is in jeopardy.
