The Shackelford County TX Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 791 U.S Hwy 180 West Albany, TX which is operated locally by the Shackelford County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Shackelford County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the West Albany Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

The Jail Division is dedicated to protecting the community at large by the housing of persons charged with various crimes. While such persons are so confined it is the duty of the jail staff to safeguard the rights and secure the health, safety and wellbeing of all such persons so confined. The county jail abides by the precepts of the law and the courts, with human dignity ever in mind, striving to be able to release each person back into society in no worse condition, physically mentally, or emotionally, than when he or she was received.

Inmate Commissary deposits: Family and Friends wishing to deposit money for an inmate may do so 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by depositing cash or using the credit card swipe located at the Stellar Services Kiosk in the public lobby of the Shackelford County LEC / Jail or by making Credit Card deposits at WWW.JAILATM.COM, Deposited funds will be automatically deposit to the inmates trust account. a $4.00 service fee will be charged on cash deposits. Credit Card fees will apply.

Shackelford County Jail – Visitation

Hours:
Monday – to- Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm
Saturday 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Each Inmate is eligible to receive two visits per week. Duration of visitation will not exceed twenty (20) minutes.

Visitation Requirements: Authorized visitors will be the immediate family only. Family members under the age of seventeen (17) will be allowed to visit when accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or legal counsel. Any visitor that creates a disturbance during visitation will be asked to leave the visitation area. If the visitor is a child, the parent, legal guardian or legal counsel will be required to leave also.

No prior inmate of this facility will be allowed to visit until 90 days after their release. Authorized visitors will be required to present valid picture identification. All authorized visitors must sign the Visitor’s Roster giving the following information:

Name of inmate visiting.
Name of visitor.
Date of visit.
Address of visitor.
Relationship to inmate
Phone number of visitor.
Identification number (driver’s license, state identification number, social security number, etc.)

Visit may be denied to any person if the visitor or inmate fails to comply with the visitation rules, or when there is reason to believe the visit may not be in the best interest of the security and welfare of the jail.
