State Correctional Institution – SCI Frackville basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 570-874-4516

This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at SCI Frackville located at 1111 Altamont Blvd in Frackville, PA are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

SCI Frackville is a maximum-security state prison that houses about 1,192 adult male inmates that sits on 174 acres, 35 of which contains the facility and are razor wire fenced in. The prison is comprised of six housing units. Inmates can be in multi-occupancy cells or in dormitory-style units. Frackville participates in the Correctional Industries program and employs fifty inmates in a large scale laundry operation that processes the clothing of four state prisons and five veteran centers. Additional inmates are provided work opportunities through the community work program which cleans highways and parks and cuts grass at various government agencies.

The Facility is one of twenty-six Correctional Facilities and one Motivational Boot Camp.
