This facility is for adult inmates.

The Taney County MO Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 266 Main St Forsyth, MO which is operated locally by the Taney County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Taney County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Forsyth Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

JAIL VISITATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. PERSONAL VISITATION
    1. Personal visitation hours:
      1. Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
        1pm – 3pm 7pm – 9pm         1pm – 3pm
        &
        7pm – 9pm

        As of October 4th, 2019, the following will be the new visitation schedule.

        Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
                  2pm-4pm  
    2. Visitation will not be permitted at meal times or shift changes if either conflict with the visitation hours listed above
    3. Offenders will be allowed up to 3 persons in one party during their visitation, and each visitor can vist up to two times per week
    4. All visitors must produce an approved form of identification before being allowed to visit. Approved forms of identification:
      1. Valid Drivers License (from any state)
      2. Valid Passport
      3. Social security card (with another identification card with photograph)
      4. Valid State or County issued ID and birth certificate if ID does not bear a date of birth
      5. Military ID card with photo and date of birth
      6. Other than these types of identification admittance into visitation is at the discretion of the shift supervisor
    5. Visitors under 16 must be accompanied by their legal guardian to visit. The guardian will be counted as one of the three allowed visitors
    6. At 10 minutes before visitation time ends, no more visits will be allowed to start

  3. DENIAL OR TERMINATION OF A VISIT
    1. A visit may be denied or terminated and visiting privileges suspended under the following circumstances:
      1. Visitor(s) under the influence of drugs or alcohol
      2. Insufficient space available in the visitation facility
      3. Refusal by a visitor to submit to search procedures
      4. Refusal or failure to produce an approved form of identification
      5. Falsifying identification by a visitor
      6. Violation of rules by a visitor
      7. Failure to prevent children from disturbing other people in the visiting area
      8. Inappropriate display of affection or sexually suggestive activity
      9. A visitor with visible body markings or jewelry that by its nature would promote or cause adverse reactions because of racial, ethnic, or religious beliefs will not be permitted to remain in the jail's general public area, inside or outside of the jail
      10. Apparel that is inappropriate and / or excites the senses:
        1. Transparent clothing
        2. Exposed breasts
        3. Exposed genitalia
        4. Short shorts
        5. Tank tops (male and female)
        6. Bare feet
      11. Vulgarity, racial, ethnic confrontational remarks will not be tolerated
      12. Other conduct or conditions deemed by the corrections officer as disruptive to visiting operations or to security and good order
    2. Repeated violations of any of the above standards may result in the denial of visiting for an extended period of time
    3. Some or all of the above may be a violation of one or more of the following Missouri Revised Statutes:
      1. 574.090   Ethnic Intimidation in the First Degree
      2. 574.093   Ethnic Intimidation in the Second Degree
      3. 574.010   Peace Disturbance
