The Tri-County Corrections Center – Northwest Regional Corrections Center is a medium-security detention center located at 816 Marin Ave Crookston, MN which is operated locally by the Polk County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Polk County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Crookston Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
Tri-County Community Corrections was formed in 1976 through Joint Powers Legislation and provides correctional services to the communities of Norman, Polk and Red Lake Counties. The three counties are located in northwestern Minnesota and have a combined population of about 45,000. Population centers are East Grand Forks and Crookston in Polk County; Ada in Norman County; and Red Lake Falls in Red Lake County.

Providing inmates with the opportunity to create lasting change through rehabilitative programming is an essential part of day-to-day operations at the Northwest Regional Corrections Center. Polk Tri-County Corrections Center – Northwest Regional Corrections Center- Visitation
ALL VISITS (On-site & Off-site) must be scheduled 24-hours in advance by following these instructions:
Video Visitation – (On-Site & Off-Site)
- Sign up by going to videovisitanywhere.com
- Create a free user account (if you don't already have one)
- You will need to submit a picture and government photo ID for facility approval
- Once approved, log back in and click on "Schedule a Visit" at the bottom of the page
- Register for a visit on the visiting platform used by the NW Regional Corrections Center
ON-SITE or PUBLIC VISITATION – Monday through Friday
- 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- 9:40 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.
- 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
No on-site visiting Saturday or Sunday and on Holidays
All on-site/public visits are free; visitors are required to create an account & schedule the visit 24-hours in advance (see instructions at the top of the page). The visitor (s) must check in with Corrections staff upon arrival.
Each visitor must present an official picture ID containing his/her date of birth. Visitor (s) under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
A visitor(s) attempting to smuggle contraband into the facility will be asked to leave and will forfeit future visiting privileges.
Reasonable accommodation(s) will be made for the handicapped visitor(s).
OFF-SITE or REMOTE/AT-HOME VISITATION
(times may vary due to jail lockdown times)
- 7 days per week, 7:00 a.m. to 9:20 p.m.
All off-site (remote) visits are subject to rates established in the visiting platform, payable by the visitor prior to the visit and are non-refundable.
Scheduled visiting times are exact and cannot be adjusted.
Additional Information / Instructions:
An inmate is allowed two (2) twenty (20) minute visits daily (on-site) and unlimited remote (off-site) visits daily, unless additional permissions are granted by the Jail Administrator or designee. A visitor may visit only one inmate at a time.
Visits are limited to two (2) adult visitors per session or one (1) adult and two (2) small children. There may be only one (1) inmate using the visiting station per visit.
- Profanities, nudity and illicit gestures during visits are prohibited. The visitor (s) and inmate must be fully clothed at all times.
- A visitor(s) appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be denied a visit.
- Visiting while driving is strictly prohibited and is illegal.
A visit may be terminated if rules are not followed; rules apply to both the inmate and the visitor(s). Failure to follow established visiting rules can result in a suspension of visiting privileges for the inmate and the visitor(s).
- An outstanding warrant check and a search for court orders preventing contact will be conducted on all visitor(s).
- A visit may be delayed or terminated if security issues arise within the NW Regional Corrections Center facility.
The NW Regional Corrections Center reserves the right to monitor visits and visits will be recorded.
