The Whitley County IN Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 101 W Market St Columbus City, IN which is operated locally by the Whitley County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Whitley County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Columbus City Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

INMATE VISITING SCHEDULE
- Visitation is on Saturday.
- Visitors under the age of 18 are only allowed on the first Saturday of the month.
- You must have a valid photo identification to visit an inmate.
Visitation time is based on the cell block the inmate is housed in:
- A Block and the Holding Cells (R1, R2, R3, R4) – 8:00 am
- B Block – 9:00 am
- C Block – 10:00 am
- D Block – 1:00 pm
- Trustees – 7:00 pm
- E Block – 6:00 pm
- G Block – 3:00 pm
- H Block – 2:00 pm
