Wood County OH Justice Center basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 419-354-7744
This facility is for adult inmates.
The Wood County OH Justice Center is a medium-security detention center located at 1960 E Gypsy Lane Rd Bowling Green, OH which is operated locally by the Wood County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Wood County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Bowling Green Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
The Justice Center, a 224 bed facility, was first occupied in June of 1990 and has a staff of over 50 deputies involved in the operations of our Full Service Facility. The staff is responsible for the safety and well-being of each inmate, and strives to maintain full accreditation with the standards set forth by the Bureau of Adult Detention of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. On site also is a full-service medical facility operated by Health Professionals, LTD of Peoria, Illinois, and a fully staffed kitchen that provides meals for the Justice Center and Juvenile Detention Center.
In an effort to effectively manage the jail population, it has recently been necessary to transfer prisoners to other jails located in Putnam County (419-523-3407), Ottawa County (419-734-6828) and Van Wert County (419-238-2464). While it is realized these relocations are an inconvenience to the families, your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated for the safety and security of the inmates as well as the staff. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is currently in the planning stages of a jail expansion which is hoped to better accommodate the increasing number of inmates and to operate more efficiently.
If you would like to send an inmate money while they are incarcerated, you must send a money order with their name on the order, and mail it to the jail at:
